Bringing Moving Music & Visual Art to the Streets

Fly Your Fall Flag

NOVEMBER 2014

Opera-Matic and the Parent Mentors of Mozart Elementary hosted a day of making and moving. Sewing machines, sheets from the thrift store, and flag poles were provided. Each flag displayed it's individual personality and then joined in choreography with the other flags.

In preparation...

Opera-Matic lead flag making workshops with parents from Mozart School's Lending Library program. Together we talked about the significance a flag has towards a community and what symbols each person would use to describe their family and themselves. This workshop was an introduction to the Fly Your Fall Flag event at Mozart Park for this Saturday, November 22nd.

Opera-Matic programming is partially supported by grants from the Illinois Arts Council Agency and CityArts, a program of the Department of Cultural Affairs & Special Events. Opera-Matic programs are also made possible through support from the Safe & Peaceful Communities Fund, Night Out in the Parks, and more. Visit our "Support" page for more information.

This project is supported by a Community Arts Assistance Program grant from the City of Chicago Department of Cultural Affairs and Special Events and Illinois Arts Council, a state agency.
