Johnny “Hurricane” Heard

In Simons Park, we serenaded the late great professional boxing champ and mentor Johnny “Hurricane” Heard.  Johnny was also, during the last 20 years of his life, the Chicago Park District boxing coach for the Humboldt Park Chicago Park District Region, and was a help, hero, and hurricane to many. In honor of this helpful hurricane, we sing this song.  He taught his students discipline, respect and honor.  “Hurricane in Your Corner” is a song for Johnny “Hurricane” Heard.
